Gender roles in GREEK CULTURE

Women in ancient Greece contrary to what is believed to be free women and considered goddesses, were really relegated to household chores, to take care of children and family. On the other hand, if men could participate in political activities, they could work and even inherit property. If we compare the role of the Greek woman with that of Colombian women a few years ago, we can find many similarities, because Colombian women also had to stay at home while the man worked. Fortunately, today women in both cultures already occupy a truly important role are independent, hardworking and free to choose.
